               STOP SHARK FINNING

I think shark finning should be banned. By shark finning we are taking the shark species to extinction. It is also wasteful because we are not even using the whole shark.
New Zealand is one of a few countries that are not banned from shark finning yet. New Zealanders don’t even eat the shark fin soups. All we are doing is cutting the fins off these animals and leaving them to bleed to death.
We are taking the sharks most important body part; taking there fin away from them is taking away their life because they can’t swim without them .They need their fin to keep them steady.
My opinion is that we should ban shark finning in New Zealand.

Should we keep the Gisborne-Napier Rail?
I believe we should keep the rail because not only it stops logging trucks from travelling on the  road but it also carries food on the trains. Without the rail all those trucks have to travel on the road causing traffic jams, car accidents, pollution and pot holes in our smooth kiwi roads.

Taking away our rail is polluting the air even more.
Is that what you want? Well I don’t.
I believe that the rail should be re-opened so there wont be as many trucks on the road and less pollution.
So I think the Gisborne to Napier rail should be re-opened so Gisborne City will be happy again.

STOP POACHING!

I believe that poachers should stop poaching because animals like elephants , rhinos and the orangatang are becoming endangered because of poaching. They are losing more of their kind.

The poachers just take the horns off rhinos and the tusks off elephants and leave them to suffer. It is unfair that the poachers allow the animals to suffer and bleed to death. I think they should stop disturbing the animals because they will never harm us unless they feel threatened .

So don’t you think we should stop poaching?
I believe we should because later generations may never see the animals that are being poached today .Please leave the animals alone that are being poached

Protect Animal Habitats!

I believe that no one should destroy animal habitats. If you destroy animal habitats it will kill animals and that will cause extinction. Many animals will have heart attacks by loud bulldozers shoving over trees. I think that if we keep on destroying animal habitats kids in the future will never see any animal that lives today and that would be a tragedy.

Destroying animal habitats will destroy native trees and that can make animals that survive on them starve to death. Native birds that build their nests in the trees will not be able to lay their eggs and people hurt these birds and they will become extinct because they can’t reproduce.

Vicious dogs should be on leads

I think vicious dogs should be on leads. It’s not fair should we be in pain and scared of dogs just for not doing the simple task of putting a dog on a lead. They could give you a scar for life or cut your leg open. I mean they roam around chasing cats, scaring children scaring humans it’s not fair. In my opinion dogs should be kept on leads to keep everyone safe.

They hurt other animals I think it’s unfair. We should do something about this. There is lots of proof of incidents . For example a 5 year old girl in Gisborne nearly got attacked by a vicious dog that wasn’t on a lead, but her seven year old cousin saved her from being attacked. We have all seen the pictures on TV and in the newspapers. Please put your dogs on leads it would help a lot.

I believe that we need more marine reserves in New Zealand to save our marine life. Marine reserves are fun to visit and go diving at. You can see what real underwater life is like.

Marine reserves are a place for underwater creatures to live and be unharmed. People are forever catching fish, crayfish, paua, kina, etc. People go over the limits, so marine reserves give marine animals  a chance to live longer. We need more marine reserves don’t we?

We need more marine reserves to save our seas. We still need beaches though. In my opinion we need more marine reserves to save our underwater world.
